Show Sounds Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Show Sounds desktop application (“Show Sounds”, the “Software”, “we”, “us”) handles your information, with particular attention to the optional Spotify integration. It is published by Entertainment IT, INC.

Show Sounds is a locally installed application for live-event audio playback. We have designed it to keep your data on your own machine wherever possible.

  1. Summary Show Sounds runs on your computer. Your shows, cues, settings, and imported media stay on your device. We do not operate analytics, advertising, or tracking inside the playback application. The Spotify integration is opt-in. It only runs after you enable Spotify and connect your account, and you can disconnect at any time. We do not sell your data, and we do not share Spotify data with any third party.
  2. Information Show Sounds stores locally The following stay on your machine (in the app's user-data directory and/or in your .show files) and are not transmitted to Entertainment IT:

Show content — your Lists, Pages, cues, cue notes, and per-cue settings. References to media — file paths to the audio you import (and, in a Save Package, copies of that audio). Application preferences — output routing, theme, shortcuts, and other settings. Autosave snapshots — periodic local backups of your in-progress show. 3. Spotify integration If you choose to enable Spotify and connect your account, Show Sounds uses Spotify Connect through Spotify's Web API. Authentication uses the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code flow with PKCE; the resulting access/refresh tokens are stored locally on your machine and are used only to talk to Spotify on your behalf.

3.1 Spotify data we access We request only what is needed to browse and control your playback:

Data Why we access it Your Spotify profile (user ID, display name) Confirm the connection and show which account is connected Your playlists and saved/library content Let you browse and choose what to play Available Spotify Connect devices Let you pick where playback happens Current playback / now-playing state Show the live transport and now-playing readout Playback control (play, pause, next, previous, volume) Operate Spotify from the Show Sounds transport 3.2 How Spotify data is handled Local only. Spotify data and tokens are kept on your device. Show Sounds does not send your Spotify data to Entertainment IT servers, and we do not store it for you. Not shared or sold. We do not share Spotify content or your Spotify personal data with any third party, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than operating the integration for you. No derivative use. We do not analyze, mine, or create derivative datasets from Spotify content or metadata. Session scope. Tokens are used solely to make Spotify API requests that you initiate or that keep the now-playing display current while the integration is active. 3.3 Disconnecting and deleting Spotify data You can disconnect Spotify at any time from the Spotify panel or from Settings → Spotify. On disconnect, Show Sounds stops accessing your Spotify account and discards the stored authorization tokens from your device. You can also revoke Show Sounds' access from your Spotify account's Apps settings at spotify.com/account/apps.

3.4 Spotify's own terms The Spotify platform, service, and content are owned by Spotify AB and/or its licensors. Your use of the integration is also governed by Spotify's own terms and privacy policy. Spotify AB is a third-party beneficiary of this Privacy Policy and may enforce it directly against you. Spotify and other third parties are not responsible for the Software.

  1. Other third-party services Depending on your configuration and edition, Show Sounds may connect to services you set up (for example, licensing/account services or cloud sync). Where those are used, they process only the data required to provide that specific feature (such as your license/account identifier), and they are subject to their own terms. The core playback application does not require an internet connection to operate locally.

  2. Children's privacy Show Sounds is a professional tool intended for use by operators and is not directed to children.

  3. Security Authorization tokens and local data are stored within your operating system's user-data location for the application. You are responsible for the physical and account security of the machine on which Show Sounds is installed.

  4. Changes to this policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective date above and, where appropriate, noted in the in-app What's New panel.
